Zooming on New Authority: Creating a (virtual) village to raise a child

The new authority is built like a network – A (New) authority figure draws her power and influence from enlisting supporters who give social echo to her stance, and functional backup for her acts. However, parents, in our Western individualistic society became lonelier, and one of the hardest missions for NVR therapists is to recruit support for them.

This presentation will start with screening some of the social issues in our Western culture that led to parental loneliness and helplessness and will end with presenting ideas for NVR professionals, how to build new „virtual variants“ of support.

Through a case example and referring to the old African proverb – it takes a village to raise a child – we`ll demonstrate now we can create and activate a „virtual village“. We´ll also learn how to transform unfruitful WhatsApp chats to an active support system. A support system that helps parents to overcome their loneliness and helplessness and create a positive impact.
