Passive Active Feedback – a mentalising bridge to the ”sit-in“
Passive Active Feedback – a mentalising bridge to the „sit-in“
The road from fear to trust is, from our experience, not liniar. We have often found it necessary to make a detour to understand the mistrust in and around families, when our work have reached deadlocks. Inspiration to do this, has lately come from the mentalizing concept of ”Epistemic Trust” (Fonagy), and has resulted in a simple, but efficient method: PAF.
Epistemic Trust in short occurs when we meet someone who seem to try to understand what kind of situation we are living in, and we, due to this notion, are considering trusting taking guidance from that person. We listen and learn from others who understand us.
In the workshop we will present, how we in our clinic in Copenhagen, make good use of the concept of Epistemic Trust in collaboration with a more classical NVR-toolbox, both in therapeutic and assesment settings alike. Experiences, videos and concrete-ready-to-use-techniques will be included in the workshop.
