The Conceptual Foundations of Our Practice
“Non Violent Resistance” is an oppositional expression. What would be its positive equivalent? This presentation seeks NVR’s positive foundations, and a conceptual framework that will adapt them to an ever-growing range of applications. It examines the assertion that “New Authority” and “Vigilant Care” are extensions of NVR, argues for a sharper distinction between the practice’s generic core and applicative products, and identifies NVR as composed of two interrelated, but still distinct practices. A paradigm is introduced for conceptualising NVR’s core and applicative levels.
